After sharing our Power 5 conference championship selections a couple weeks ago, the Sideline Hecklers are ready to unveil our College Football Playoff matchups and championship game winners.
As you’d likely expect from the terrific trio of #RandomRandy (Randy Parker), #SoonerChris (Chris Kerklin) and #LowedownDon (Don Lowe), our playoff picks and choices for who will be crowned champions of the 2023 college football season might not seem so logical.
Then again, perhaps, you should pay close attention, because we might just know what we’re talking about. After all, we are the Sideline Hecklers.
So, here’s how we see it all playing out…
#RandomRandy says it’s going to be Head Coach Kirby Smart’s two-time defending champion Georgia Bulldogs matching up against Head Coach Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes and Head Coach Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide squaring off opposite Head Coach Brent Venables’ Oklahoma Sooners in the two semifinal-round showdowns.
It’s interesting that #RandomRandy has Oklahoma in his Playoffs when he chose the Texas Longhorns as Big 12 champions. But, hey, that’s #RandomRandy in his typical randomness.
In his title game, #RandomRandy has Georgia and Alabama colliding in an all-SEC tilt. #RandomRandy predicts the Crimson Tide will Roll to victory with yet another national championship.
As for #SoonerChris, he’s going with Head Coach Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans and Georgia in one battle of heavyweights, with Head Coach Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers and Ohio State colliding in the other semifinal game.
Surprisingly, perhaps, #SoonerChris opted not to go with his heart and didn’t put his beloved Sooners in the Playoff.
In the championship game, #SoonerChris says it will be Georgia against Ohio State. #SoonerChris is officially on record with the Bulldogs making it a three-peat, while going back-to-back-to-back as Kings of College Football.
#LowedownDon is opting to be different, perhaps just to be different and mix things up a little bit. He is a bit unusual with his thought process. At any rate, #LowedownDon has Head Coach Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines and USC in one semifinal with Head Coach Mike Norvell’s Florida State Seminoles and Alabama in the other.
Michigan? Florida State? Really, #LowedownDon? Bold? Or just plain ridiculous? We shall see. In the championship game, #LowedownDon has Alabama and USC playing for all the marbles. And, #LowedownDon has Bama finishing as the champs once again.
