I suggest that an outstanding New Year’s Resolution for Rob Walton, along with his daughter (Carrie Walton-Penner) and son-in-law (Greg Penner), is to officially relocate their National Football League franchise (Denver Broncos) to Bentonville, Arkansas.
Far-fetched, you say.
I’ve gone completely off my rocker, you laugh.
Totally lost my mind, you snicker.
Welcome the Broncos to NWA
Why shouldn’t the Walton’s move the Broncos to Northwest Arkansas, I ask?
You think this area has seen unbelievable growth around these parts over the last couple of decades.
Bring the Broncos here and see what happens next.
Property values will go off the charts.
There will be more jobs than you can imagine.
Oh, sure, infrastructure is still a mess. But, that will never change anyway.
Of course, it will take a few years to construct a stadium.
In the meantime, though, our Broncos could play at Razorback Stadium, right?
So, none of this is realistic. I get it.
What’s In a Name?
But, just play along with me for the sake of having a little fun.
What would we re-name our team?
The Bentonville Broncos?
The Walmart Broncos?
What about the Bentonville Sparky’s?
There’s the Bentonville Retailers?
I’d suspect I could get much better creativity from many of my friends.
Help me name our NFL team and we will send the best and brightest ideas to Rob Walton and his fellow ownership group.
Let’s dream big.
The NFL is coming to Northwest Arkansas, right?
